Pakistan clean sweep Bangladesh won T20I series

Pakistan made a clean sweep over Bangladesh in their Twenty20 series, winning the third and final game by five wickets after a thrilling last over on Monday.

Bangladesh averaged 124-7 on aggregate, but the slow pace meant that Pakistan needed eight runs off the last six balls.

captain Mahmudullah: Came in to bowl his only over of the day and dismissed Sarfraz Ahmed and Haider Ali in successive deliveries before Iftikhar Ahmed hit a huge six off the fourth ball to not get him a hat-trick.

With two runs needed off two balls, Iftikhar went for glory but ended up hitting a six at backward point. New batsman Mohammad Nawaz then hit a boundary through extra cover to take Pakistan home.

Mahmudullah scored 3-10 runs in his one over.

Earlier, Haider and Mohammad Rizwan shared a 51-run partnership for the second wicket for Pakistan.

Paceman Shohidul Islam took his first wicket by dismissing Rizwan for 40 while making his debut. But Haider looked completely in control, scoring 45 runs in 38 balls with the help of three fours and two sixes.

Mahmudullah had opted to bat first but debutant pacer Shahnawaz Dhani, leg-spinner Usman Qadir and pacer Mohammad Wasim took two wickets each to restrict Bangladesh to their low score.

Dhani took a wicket in his first over by dismissing Najmul Hossain Shanto for five runs. Mohammad Naeem became the top scorer for the home team with 47 off 50 balls.

Pakistan won the first game by four wickets and the second by eight wickets.
