Howrah: Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee Said on Thursday that his government expects an investment of Rs 10,480 crore Howrah District over the next two years, which would lead to the creation of employment opportunities For more than 1 lakh people. Addressing a review meeting in the district, Banerjee said 882 new projects would come up in Howrah in the next two years.
“In the next two years, an investment of Rs 10,480 crore will come in Howrah district. About 882 new projects and industrial parks will come up in the district, which will generate over 1,16,000 jobs,” he said.
Banerjee urged industrialists to recruit local people instead of bringing workers from other states.
“We know that people from other states come here in search of jobs. We live in peace and harmony. But I would request all of you (industrialists) to recruit local people for upcoming projects,” she said.
Banerjee also asked the district administration and land department to settle land issues as soon as possible.
“There has been a lack of coordination. I request the district and land department officials to look into the problems and resolve them at the earliest. A coordination program will be organized on December 14 to look into the problems,” she said. ,
The chief minister’s announcement of investment in Howrah is part of the state government’s new efforts to bring in big-ticket investments.
Banerjee also announced that the state government is planning to develop a new dairy firm – ‘Bangla Dairy’ under the state animal husbandry department.
“It will sell different types of dairy products. Around 512 outlets will be set up to sell those products,” she said.
