One, as he revealed, was India’s loss to West Indies in the semifinal of the ICC T20 World Cup in the year 2016.

“In cricket, I felt heartbroken twice. And both of them were in the same year. First was the World Cup 2016 cause I was honestly in a space where I was thinking, whatever happens, we will be able to win this,” Kohli said.

However, India ended up losing the game to the Windies and were ousted from the tournament.

“So that took long to get over. I was drained, I did not get out of the room, it was very hard on me,” Kohli revealed.

He went on to add that the summit clash loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad in RCB’s colours the same year was another hard pill to swallow.

“The next was the IPL final. I felt like it was written in the star. We got to the finals out of nowhere,” the 35-year-old continued.

“We were chasing 200 and we were 100 without loss in 9 overs. And when AB got out we needed 68 off 42 balls with 8 wickets in hand,” Kolhi elucidated.

“You fell, ‘Just how did we lost that game?’

“And the most heartbreaking part was, we went back to the Ritz Carlton Hotel and an entire setup for the celebrations was done. And only four of us were sat there, nobody even wanted to come downstairs from their rooms,” he reflected.
