US: 2 killed, 3 injured in shooting near Cincinnati park

According to officials, shots were fired in the Small Park area on Sunday night, in which one person died on the spot, while another died at a local hospital.

On July 4, two people were killed and three others were injured in a shootout in downtown Cincinnati, police said.

The shooting took place in the area of ​​Smalle Park on Sunday night, Lieutenant Colonel Lisa Davis told reporters at a news conference. One person died on the spot, while the other died in a local hospital.

Three other people who were shot were taken to hospital. Police said two suffered minor injuries and the third was in critical condition.

Police identified the two men killed as 16-year-old Milo Watson and 19-year-old Dexter Wright Jr. He did not release details about other people who were injured.

The shooting took place amid fireworks in a busy park.

Amber Gray told WXIX-TV that she was in the park with her son when the shots fired.

“We heard screaming… we heard more shots, and we saw everyone running and screaming,” she said, holding her son and running in her car to escape.

Davis said between 400 and 500 teenagers were in the park at the time of the shooting.

Police did not immediately get information about any suspects. Davis said it was too early to know whether the shooting was random or targeted.

Police said they are seeking information from anyone who witnessed the shooting or has a video of what happened.
