Kovid-19 vaccine modern will reach India by this week: Sources

For this reason, India is receiving more and more vaccines after careful scrutiny. For this reason, the vaccine prepared by the American company Moderna can reach India this week. News agency ANI has given this information quoting sources.

The Drug Controller General (DCGI) has allowed Cipla to import Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use. Modern Vaccine will be the fourth COVID-19 vaccine to be available in India, after Covishield, Covaxin and Sputnik.

A source said, “DCGI has allowed Cipla to import Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine for limited emergency use in the country as per the provisions of the New Drugs and Clinical Trial Rules, 2019 under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940. Is allowed.”

At a time when a new delta variant is continuously spreading in the world, it is important to know how effective the modern vaccine is against this variant. The Moderna vaccine was found to be 94 percent effective in Phase III clinical trials in the United States. But it needs to be kept at a very low temperature.

Moderna informed DCGI in a letter on June 27 that the US government has agreed to donate a specific number of doses of its COVID-19 vaccine, ‘Kovovax’, to the Indian government. Along with this, approval has been sought from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO).
