Lalu Prasad’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav claimed on Saturday that his father has been held “hostage” in Delhi, and is not being allowed to come to Patna despite getting bail from jail earlier this year. Speaking at a function organized by the Chhatra Janshakti Parishad, he said, “Despite getting bail months ago, my father is being held hostage in Delhi.”

Yadav also alleged that there are some people in the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) who are “dreaming” of becoming the party’s national president.

“My father (Lalu Prasad Yadav) is unwell. There are 4-5 people in the party who have dreamed of becoming the national president of Rashtriya Janata Dal. No need to name him as it is known to all. He has to die after almost a year. Was released from jail before but has been taken hostage in Delhi,” Tej Pratap Yadav said.

Without naming anyone, he said, “Some people are not letting him go and forcibly keeping him away from me, giving him wrong information about me.”

Tej Pratap Yadav also indicated that Tejashwi Yadav-led RJD is probably on the verge of collapse.

Tej Yadav had launched the Chhatra Janshakti Parishad in September this year and claimed that it was not meant to pose a challenge to the student RJD, the official student wing of the party, but to work towards “organizing youth at the village level”. does.

The temperamental MLA declared, as always, claiming that he had “Lalu Prasad’s blessings” at a time when he was left licking his wounds after losing a tug-of-war with state RJD chief Jagdanand Singh. .

Singh, considered close to Yadav’s younger and more powerful brother Tejashwi Yadav, had recently sacked Akash Yadav from the post of Chhatra RJD state president.

Expressing sympathy for Tej Pratap, JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar targeted Tejashwi Yadav and said, “We may have political differences with Lalu Yadav, but keeping him hostage is not right, what is the matter, only the family members are making . blame.”

He said, “Tejashwi lives in Delhi most of the time. He is the heir of politics and wealth in the Lalu family, while Tej Pratap is more educated than him.”
