Following the cancellation of the UP Police Constable exam, a fake circular surfaced on social media regarding the exam schedule and dates. The fake notice alleges that the UP Police Constable exam will be re-conducted on June 29 and 30. However, issuing a clarification on the same, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board (UPPRPB) shared a notification on X (Formerly Twitter) stating that the notification is fake and the board has not announced any such date for the conduct of the UP Police Constable Recruitment Examination 2023. It further warned candidates to be cautious about such fake notices.

The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment & Promotion Board’s official notification reads, “A purported notification regarding the conduct of the UP Police constable recruitment examination 2023 is circulating on social media, claiming the exam dates as June 29 and June 30. The board makes it abundantly clear that this information is fake and no such dates have been declared by the board.”

“Any information regarding the exam will be published only on the official website and Twitter handle of the board. Legal action is being taken against miscreants for circulating fake information,” it added.

More than 48 lakh candidates registered for UP Police recruitment, including as many as 16 lakh women. Among these, 43 lakhs appeared for the exam.

However, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the cancellation of the UP Police Constable exam 2024 on his official social media account X amidst rumours of paper leaks. He further stated that a re-examination will be conducted within the next six months.

The post by CM Yogi Adityanath loosely translates to, “Orders have been given to cancel the examination conducted for selection to the posts of Reserve Civil Police and to conduct a re-examination within the next 6 months.”

“There can be no compromise with the sanctity of examinations. Those who play with the hard work of the youth will not be spared under any circumstances. Strictest action is certain to be taken against such unruly elements,” he added.
