Samsung is taking this feature from Apple’s Safari browser – Times of India

samsung has started rolling out the new beta update for its Internet browser. Samsung Internet Browser is the default browser in which every device of the company comes pre-installed. The beta v16.0.2.15 version of the browser brings several updates but the most notable addition is the option to move the address bar. Users can now move the browser’s address bar to the bottom of the page where it is easier to access when using the device with one hand. Until now, the address bar was only fixed at the top of the page.
It looks like Samsung is trying to follow in Apple’s footsteps. With the launch of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, the company redesigned Safari The browser and address bar were moved to the bottom of the page. Although Apple It later provided an option to move the address bar back to the top after users started complaining about the new look, by default it is now only located at the bottom.
With the new beta, Samsung has also added support for tab groups which allows users to sort tabs into groups for easier access. This feature is already available in Google Chrome and Safari browsers. Another significant change in the beta update is support for HTTPS upgrades, which is launching as a Labs feature. This feature is very similar to Chrome’s HTTPS-first mode. Once enabled in the settings, it will automatically attempt to upgrade all web pages to HTTPS.
The beta update also adds better support for foldable smartphones like the company’s newly launched Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. If you want to try out the new features on your Samsung smartphone, you will need to download and install the Samsung Internet Browser Beta application from the Google Play Store.
