Ranveer Singh to start Dhurandhar next month?

Ranveer Singh is having a busy month as he prepares to wrap up shooting for the highly anticipated film ‘Singham Again’ by the end of May 2024. Well, according to the recent reports, the actor will then move to his next major project, ‘Dhurandhar,’ directed by Aditya Dhar. Ranveer will begin the shoot for the film in June.
According to a report in Mid-day, a source revealed, “There’s some minor patchwork shooting remaining, which will be completed at Film City within the next two weeks. Singh is expected to commence shooting for Aditya’s film in June. He’s also been in talks with Prasanth Varma, known for HanuMan, regarding their next project, tentatively titled Rakshas.”
A source told Bollywood Hungama anonymously a month ago, “Ranveer Singh and Aditya Dhar are very keen to make their first collaboration very special. They want to mount the film like the biggest action thriller set against the backdrop of politics and gang wars. The vision to make this requires a big budget and they are not able to align their vision with their studio partner.”
According to a source close to the director quoted by Hindustan Times, Ranveer has shown interest in collaborating with Prasanth but has not yet formally committed to the project.
“Yes it’s true that Prasanth approached Ranveer for a film in his cinematic universe. It will be his immediate next project after HanuMan. Ranveer is interested and it’s almost confirmed but nothing is finalised yet. An official announcement will be made once it’s finalised. Mythri Movie Makers will be backing it,” the source disclosed to Hindustan Times.
HanuMan starring Teja Sajja, Amritha Aiyer, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Vinay Rai, was a significant success, grossing over ₹100 crore globally and establishing the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe (PVCU).
Last year, Farhan Akhtar unveiled Ranveer Singh as the new Don in the teaser for Don 3: The Final Chapter. The teaser included Ranveer’s voiceover, resonating with the awakening of a lion: “Sher jo so raha hain woh jagega kab, puchte hai yeh sab. Unse keh do phir jaag utha hoon main, aur phir samne jald aane ko…”
