SBSP president Om Prakash Rajbhar on Monday said he has sought time from Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav to discuss their alliance, indicating that the outcome of the meeting could determine his party’s stand on the presidential election. “I want to know from the SP chief that under what circumstances I was not invited to the program organized for Yashwant Sinha, the United Opposition’s candidate for the presidential election,” he said. Rajbhar told PTI, “I want to meet Akhilesh Yadav and talk to him regarding the alliance. On Sunday, I had a telephonic conversation with SP leader Udayveer Singh in this regard. I told Singh that I want to meet Akhilesh Yadav.” The SBSP has six MLAs in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. The party chief had recently contested the state assembly elections as an ally of the SP-led opposition group. Expressing happiness over Murmu’s candidature, he said that he fights for the Dalits and the most backward classes.
