Parliament: The second phase of the budget session from today, Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget of Jammu and Kashmir on the first day

The second phase of the budget session of Parliament is starting from Monday. This session is also expected to be uproar. While the opposition will surround the government on many issues including rising inflation, unemployment, interest rate cut on Employees Provident Fund and evacuation of Indians trapped in Ukraine, on the agenda of the government, taking approval on budgetary proposals and presenting the budget for Jammu and Kashmir. Doing so would be the first priority.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget for Jammu and Kashmir on Monday itself and it can be discussed after the lunch break. The government has also listed the Constitution Amendment (Scheduled Tribes) Order Bill for consideration and passing in the Lok Sabha. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar can make a statement on the situation in Ukraine and India’s stand in this session.

The second phase of the budget session is being held at a time when the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab won the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur just four days ago. In such a situation, the government will also give a strong answer to the allegations of the opposition and will try to surround the opposition parties on the basis of the mandate.

Proceedings of both the houses will run concurrently
In the first phase of the budget session, from January 29 to February 11, the proceedings of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were conducted in two different shifts. Due to the considerable improvement in the situation of Corona, the proceedings of both the houses will run concurrently from 11 am.

Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir’s third budget
Nirmala Sitharaman will present the state’s third budget since the formation of a union territory, after the Question Hour. This will be the third budget after the abrogation of Article 370 and 35A from the state. Both the earlier budgets were presented on March 17. There may be a slight increase in the budget. This time the budget can be around 1.10 lakh crores as compared to last year’s 1.08 lakh crores. In the budget, emphasis can be laid on infrastructural development in cities and rural areas.

Congress will surround the government in Parliament on Ukraine, unemployment and EPF issues

In the second phase of the budget session of Parliament, the Congress will surround the government on the issues of Ukraine, inflation, unemployment and EPF. Congress Parliamentary Party meeting was held at party president Sonia Gandhi’s residence on Sunday to decide the strategy for the session starting Monday. The party will make a joint strategy with other opposition parties on these issues as well as MSP of crops etc.

Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge said that various issues related to the public were discussed and it was decided which issues should be raised. All the members of the Parliamentary Consultative Committee participated in it. He told that after the agenda is decided in the Business Advisory Committee, the leaders of the team will decide what to do. He said that during the session we will raise issues of public interest in coordination with like-minded opposition parties.

Rahul Gandhi absent from the meeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi did not attend the parliamentary party meeting. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also could not attend it due to ill health. AK Antony and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury also absented from the meeting.
