Gambhir has been a much hated figure in Pakistan. Over the years, many news anchors in Pakistan have enjoyed including Gambhir in live TV debates. Some of them didn’t think twice before taking the shot.

Calling him Karale’s first cousin (for his ‘bitter’ statements against Pakistan), Nadir Shah began asking Sohail Khan for his reaction on Gambhir. When the cricketer asked him to change the subject, Shah did not stop and continued criticizing Gambhir, calling him Rajpal Yadav’s brother. He even misquoted her at one stage.
Sohail is taken aback by Nadir’s revelations and his statements on Gambhir as he asks, “He speaks against Pakistan?” Earlier he said, “Woh bhi log sunte hai?”
Further he referred to Gambhir’s statements for banning Pakistan which was probably given to The Times of India in 2018: “If you want to ban someone from playing, you have to ban them from playing every format of cricket. Should do, be it Asia Cup or ICC events. You cannot impose conditional bans in sports. You cannot say that we will not play bilateral series but we cannot do anything about ICC events and Asia Cup. If you want to play Pakistan in the Asia Cup, why don’t you play a bilateral series as well? If you don’t want to play Pakistan in bilateral series, then they should not play in Asia Cup and ICC events. It is for the BCCI and the government to decide.”

Even as a dispute erupted between the BCCI and the PCB over the change in venue of the Asia Cup, BJP leaders have remained tight-lipped as the situation unfolds.
Meanwhile, Khan showed no interest even as the anchor kept talking about Gambhir. He had no firm opinion on Gambhir and at one point asked the anchor to change the subject.
Earlier Khan had quipped India Speedster Umran Malik when Shah asked him if he could break Shoiab Akhtar’s record. ‘Inke jaise bhare pade hai,’ he had replied.
