70. Harnaaz Sandhu made India proud after winning the title of Miss Universe 2021 inth Beauty pageant edition. Acclaimed for her performance at the international event, Harnaaz impressed the judges and her fans with her exquisite designs on the ramp. From walking confidently in a solid colored monokini to gliding gracefully down the ramp in a gorgeous pink lehenga, each outfit worn by the actor-model played an integral part in her winning moment.

Shine and Gold: Pankaj and Nidhi

Pankaj at Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu and Nidhi’s Rachna Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu looked resplendent in Pankaj and Nidhi’s statement Rosentham Orchid gown from their AFTERGLOW collection. Talking about the dress, the designer duo says, “Crafted on sheer orchid tulle and embellished with molten appliqués, this dress epitomizes the dazzling glow of sunset over the wavy surface of the water.” Excited to design the gown for Harnaaz, the duo shared, “The shimmering gold gown complements Harnaaz’s personality. After a long gap of 21 years, the Taj has come to India. We are so proud of her.”

Of royalty and grace: Abhinav Mishra

For the National Costume Round, Harnaaz Sandhu wore a beautiful Rani pink lehenga by fashion designer Abhinav Mishra. Sharing his experience working on the concept, Abhinav shared, “We are extremely proud to be associated with Harnaaz Sandhu and wish him all the very best! It is a very proud moment, and working with him on the national costume has been a wonderful experience. When we were told that the national dress would celebrate India’s rich and prestigious class and the power behind the royal Indian queen, it had a great message for us. It resonates with our brand as we represent today’s modern women who celebrate their inner royalty and grace.”

The pink color in the dress celebrated femininity, power and power and also showcased Mishra’s signature mirror work and gota patti work which represents India’s rich heritage and crafts. A royal visual representation of India, the organization took 15 days to complete.

Harnaaz also carried a custom-made hand embroidered mirror work umbrella designed by Reza. The Sahara is a symbol of the royalty of India.

Crowning Glory: Sayesha Shinde

After completing the gowns in four weeks, Saesha Shinde’s finale gown for Harnaaz Sandhu has been the talk of the town subject has been. Embellished with sequins, stones and embroidery, the floor-length couture gown was an amalgamation of Sayesha’s design aesthetic and Harnaaz’s personality. Speaking about the inspiration behind the gown, Sayesha says, “Angelic, ethereal, dynamic and eclectic are the main design elements that I worked on to create this couture gown.” From Phulkari-inspired designs with geometric shapes, the gown was perfect for Indian crafts with a modern twist.
