Maharashtra: University suspends head of education department for demanding money from research student

The administration of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University has suspended the head of its education department following allegations that he demanded money from research students, an official said. The official said in a release that Dr Ujjwala Bhadange was suspended after an audio clip of his purported conversation with a female research student went viral on social media, in which he purportedly demanded Rs 50,000 and asked him to pay Rs. Threatened too. In this regard, the student had lodged a complaint with the Vice Chancellor of the university on Thursday. Following the complaint, Vice Chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole suspended Bhadange, the university administration said in a release.
