Maharashtra Government to Build a Memorial to Celebrate Lata Mangeshkar’s Legacy

Mumbai: The Maharashtra government has planned to build a memorial for Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar and it will come up near Haji Ali Chowk in Taddeo area of ​​Mumbai, close to Peddar Road where the late singer lived. The ‘bhoomi pujan’ for the memorial was performed on Monday by Lata Mangeshkar’s sister Usha Mangeshkar, who was also the chief guest at the event.

Monday was the death anniversary of the great singer. The monument is planned in the shape of a tree, designed by Lekha Washington. The proposal for the construction of the memorial has been given by Maharashtra’s Tourism Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha. It will be completed in three to four months and will be built by the BMC and the Maharashtra government.
