Maharashtra Covid restrictions likely to be further relaxed; Decision on local train, gym, mall soon

Mumbai: With the number of daily coronavirus cases stabilizing in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray is contemplating further easing of the lockdown restrictions in the state.

After a meeting of the state COVID-19 task force, state health minister Rajesh Tope said on Thursday that the Maha Vikas Aghadi government has decided to relax restrictions in 25 districts of the state where COVID cases are low. While the norms of Kovid will remain. Remains intact in 11 districts.

According to media reports, the state government is also in talks with the railway administration regarding travel in Mumbai local trains. The decision regarding travel in local trains will be taken in two to three days.

The minister further said that the Maharashtra government is also reviewing the norms regarding cinema halls, hotels, gyms during the weekend curfew.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Cabinet Minister and Mumbai Guardian Minister Aslam Shaikh said forever ministers in the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition government feel that people who have been vaccinated with two doses should be allowed to travel. . The Minister also informed that the COVID-19 Task Force has submitted its recommendations on relaxation and a decision is expected soon.

Maharashtra on Tuesday reported 6,258 new coronavirus cases and 254 Covid-related deaths. With this, the total infections rose to 62,76,057, while the death toll stood at 1,31,859.

12,645 patients were discharged, taking the number of cured people to 60,58,751. According to the health bulletin, there are 82,082 active cases. The recovery rate is 96.54% while the mortality rate is 2.01%.
