Jalandhar : East Punjab Congress President Mohinder Singh KP started campaigning in Jalandhar Cantonment and Adampur constituencies.
He has said that if he is not given ticket from Adampur, then he will consider contesting from Jalandhar Cantt.
“My first priority is to get a party ticket from Adampur, but if it will be denied I am keeping both the options open,” he said, adding, “I am very much part of the Congress and want to stick with it.”
“If I have to contest the election on my own then it can also be Jalandhar Cantt which includes my residence.”
Sources said Kapi was unhappy with Jalandhar Cantonment MLA Pargat Singh facilitating the induction of Bahujan Samaj Party leaders, one of whom was Sukhwinder. Singh KotliWon ticket from Adampur also.
Kapi has also been pointing out that he was denied ticket despite losing three assembly elections, while he won the parliamentary election midway, but the family of Congress MP Chaudhary Santokh Singh was given the ticket while he was in Phillaur. He had lost three consecutive assembly elections.
