Junaid Siddiqui of Sharjah Warriors expressed that he made batting difficult for MI Emirates captain Kieron Pollard
UAE fast bowlers Junaid Siddiqui and Aakif Raja enthralled cricket fans with their scintillating performances in the inaugural edition of DP. World International League T20 is being organized in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
Sharjah Warriors’ Siddique, who is currently the second highest wicket-taker in the competition with nine scalps, expressed that he has made the batting difficult for MI Emirates skipper Kieron Pollard.

“There are a lot of superstars in this tournament. DP World ILT20 is a great opportunity to learn something different. Pollard is a T20 legend and I have got him out many times. Whenever I bowl against him, I bowl to him,” Siddiqui said. Always tried to make batting difficult for him.
“Naveen-ul-Haq and Chris Woakes have shared their experience with me. He has also shared tips with me and told me how to bowl in tough conditions. The captain and coaching staff have shown faith in my abilities and given me a great opportunity to be the frontline bowler for the Warriors.”
Meanwhile, fast bowler Akif Raja, who has taken six wickets in six matches in the DP World ILT20, expressed that he is enjoying the tournament, “The tournament is going very well for me. I am having a lot of fun. It feels really great to get the good batsmen out. I always try to get the good batsmen out. If I can get the good batsmen out, I can help my team win.

Raja, who recorded his best of two for 20 against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in Dubai on 13 January 2023, talked about bowling during the winter in the UAE, “The ball swings a lot during the winter months in the UAE. And if you bowl stump to stump, you will get wickets. I try to bring the batsman forward and try to get him caught behind or LBW. I consider myself a wicket-taking bowler. And our coach has given me the freedom to take wickets.”
