Amidst speculation that Russian President Vladimir Putin is suffering from a life-threatening illness, a new video has again raised the buzz about his health, especially his legs. Earlier this week, President Putin held an important meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko. During the meeting, he displayed unusual behaviour, which eventually caught the attention of the media.

In a video shared by Ukrainian internal affairs adviser Anton Gerashchenko, the president can be seen shuffling his legs and making “unusual and jittery movements”.

Moreover, in other videos, which are now viral on several social media platforms, Putin can be seen jerking his feet while his Belarusian counterpart was making important points on the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. Taking to the microblogging site, Gerashchenko wrote, “Putin’s feet during meeting with Lukashenko. Is this Morse code?”

Putin has ‘blood cancer’?

Interestingly, this is not the first time that the international media has highlighted Putin’s serious health condition. Earlier last year, a UK newspaper Daily Mail cited a report new lines magazine, published that the President was suffering from “blood cancer” and was seriously ill. According to the magazine, a Russian oligarch has spilled the beans about his health, where he claimed that the president has problems with his lower back. Furthermore, he said that Putin had back surgery in October 2021.

Notably, on May 9 last year, when Moscow celebrated its Victory Day, the city’s temperature was recorded around 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Despite the scorching heat, President Putin’s demeanor could be seen to be aloof – awkwardly walking through Red Square – possibly to hide a limp. At the same time, he had covered his legs and feet with a brown blanket. Recently, the New York Post quoted Valery Solovyo, a Russian historian and political expert, as saying that Putin has been taking the best and most advanced medicine to keep himself alive. According to the historian, Putin “certainly would not have been in public life if he had not been using the most advanced treatment that Moscow could provide him.”
