Who can apply for the scholarship, how to apply, and how the eligible students will be selected are all managed by the Senate Scholarships and Prizes (SSPC) Committee of IIT. This committee is responsible for overseeing the entire process and selecting the most deserving students for various scholarships, prizes and awards.

Merit Cum Means Scholarship
Students of the SC/ST category whose parents’ annual income is less than Rs 4,50,000 can apply for this scholarship. On receiving this scholarship, students will not have to pay any tuition fees. Besides, they will also be given Rs 1,000 every month.
Inspire Scholarship
This scholarship is available for students whose All India Rank in JEE exam is within 10,000. If selected, students get an annual scholarship of Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 for research every semester.
Donor Scholarship
This scholarship is for meritorious students who come from financially unprivileged backgrounds. The scholarship is given to students on a different basis. Its details can be checked on the website of IIT Kanpur.
Free Basic Mess Scholarship
Students of the SC/ST category whose parents’ annual income is less than Rs 4,50,000, get a free basic mess bill under this scholarship. This scholarship saves you from the expenses of food and accommodation during your education.
Sports Scholarship
Students of IIT Kanpur who lead sports-related activities at the institute are eligible for a sports scholarship. This scholarship provides students with Rs 1,000 per month throughout the year.
