Kanpur: The sister-in-law of Daya Shankar, who had jumped into the Ganga with two his two sons in Bithoor, consumed dye late on Thursday night. According to police, apparently, the woman attempted suicide because her two nephews are yet to be traced.
When her condition deteriorated, her relatives got her admitted to the district hospital. Her condition is said to be serious. Daya Shankar with his two kids had jumped into Ganga from the New Ganga bridge in Bithoor area of the district on Thursday.
While he was pulled out alive by local divers, his two sons could not be traced till late evening. Searches are underway to trace the whereabouts of the two kids. Daya Shankar Lodhi, is a resident of Samba Kheda village in Jankikund of Unnao. Prior to jumping into Ganga with kids, he had quarrelled with his wife Sita over some issue.
