Goa CM directs depts to clear pension, subsidies ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi | Goa News – Times of India

PANAJI: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday said that Rs142 crore will be disbursed to 3.4 lakh families as instalments for various schemes and subsidies including the Dayanand social security (DSS) scheme ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi.
He said that beneficiaries will receive the money into their accounts today or on Monday.
Sawant held meetings with all the departments which run social welfare schemes as well as those responsible for granting subsidies.
He said that the directorate of social welfare has been asked to release DSS pension on time to 1.3 lakh senior citizens.
Sawant said that he has given instructions to release at a time the pending three-month payments of Griha Aadhar scheme to 1.3 lakh beneficiaries. He also said that the veterinary department has been asked to clear pending milk incentives.
Similarly the chief minister said that he has asked the directorate of agriculture to clear pending subsidies by Monday.
