Garena Free Fire was the most downloaded game in October, India biggest market for mobile games: Report

Garena Free Fire is one of the most popular battle royale games at least in India. Now, there are statistics to support this. Garena Free Fire emerged as the most downloaded mobile game worldwide in October 2021 with nearly 34 million downloads. According to a report by Sensor Tower, this is a 72 percent increase in downloads compared to last year. The report also states that India is the largest market for Garena Free Fire, with 30 percent of downloads coming from the country. The Sensor Tower report states that India is followed by Brazil, which accounts for about 12 per cent of the total downloads.

After Garena Free Fire, Idil Morgul’s Candy Challenge was the second most installed mobile game worldwide last month, with close to 19 million installs. The country with the largest number of Candy Challenge downloads was the US, accounting for 12.2 percent of total downloads, followed by Brazil with 9.3 percent. According to Sensor Tower, Candy Challenge was followed by Roblox from Roblox Corporation, followed by Cookie Carver from Azure and Subway Surfer from Cybo Games as the fifth most downloaded game.

The report also noted that the global mobile game market generated 4.5 billion downloads on the App Store and Google Play Store in October 2021, marking a year-on-year growth of 1.3 percent. The report said that the number one market for global game downloads was India. India had 762.6 million installs which is 16.8 percent of the total downloads worldwide. India was followed by the US, which accounted for 8.6 per cent of total downloads, followed by Brazil at 8.3 per cent.
