Earlier, Simon Doull sparked a huge debate after he lashed out at Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam. “For some time now, instead of putting the team first, that is all that has been happening. Instead of looking for boundaries. So much firepower is yet to come. Hundreds are great and statistics are fantastic. But it has to be the team first,” Dole was heard commentating during a game between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators on 8 March.
Coming back to the Islamabad United game, batting first, Multan Sultans registered a mammoth score of 205 in Rawalpindi. Cricket Stadium. Pakistan opener Shan Masood emerged as Multan’s top-scorer with 75 runs. Islamabad’s Faheem Ashraf scored an unbeaten half-century to give his team a sensational two-wicket win. The Shadab Khan-led side scored the winning runs with one ball to spare.
The defeat left Multan Sultans third in the Pakistan Super League standings. On the other hand, Islamabad United are placed at the second position.
