Delay in order to expel government, lives of thousands of Indians in danger: P Chidambaram

new Delhi: Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram said on Tuesday that… The Indian government should stop its verbal balancing act and desperately demand that Russia immediately stop bombing major cities in Ukraine. On the same day an Indian student was killed in shelling in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

Chidambaram said in a tweet that if the bombing is stopped or stopped, then foreigners trapped in Ukraine can leave the country.

In this episode, Chidambaram accused the government of delaying the order to evacuate people. He also said that the government was guilty of encouraging Indians to believe that “nothing unpleasant is likely to happen in Ukraine”.

The senior Congress leader said the lives of thousands of Indians, including students, are in danger. “India must speak loudly and bravely and demand that Russia immediately stop bombing,” he said.

Other Congress leaders on the Russia-Ukraine crisis

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has condoled the death of an Indian student in the shelling in Ukraine on Tuesday. He wrote in a tweet that the Indian government “needs a strategic plan for a safe evacuation”, and added that “every minute is precious”.

Congress Foreign Affairs Department chairman Anand Sharma said in an official statement last week that the outbreak of hostilities and military conflict between Russia and Ukraine is a matter of grave concern to the world. He said in the statement that the Indian National Congress, while expressing its anguish, believes that the international community should work together to end armed conflict and save human lives and restore peace to further aggravate the crisis.

Sharma had said, “The route of diplomatic dialogue to resolve all issues between Russia and Ukraine with respect to the Minsk and Russia-NATO agreements and the earlier understanding should be pursued with utmost sincerity.”

He wrote that the United Nations (UN) Charter should be upheld by all countries.
