Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) has made it clear that the leader will not attend a function in Haryana later this month where he could share the stage with several political stalwarts to protest against the NDA.

A statement to this effect was made here by the party’s national president Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan, who said the chief minister’s hands were full so he would not be able to go to Jind on September 25, though JD(U) national general secretary KC Tyagi was its representative. Huh.

“The event is being organized to mark the birth anniversary of former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhary Devi Lal, for whom the Chief Minister has deep personal respect,” Lalan said.

“But, the situation in the state is full of challenges. Preparations are to be made for a possible third wave of COVID-19. Flood relief work to be done. The JD(U) chief said that the suffering of children due to viral fever has to be dealt with in a big way.

He said that in the present circumstances, Kumar cannot afford to go out of the state. If the situation is right, he can do short trips to the national capital as much as possible.

Chautala had initially claimed that Nitish Kumar had “confirmed” his presence for the meeting, triggering a political storm in Bihar as the JD(U) is the largest constituent of the NDA after the BJP. It was speculated that the strong JD(U) leader, whose party was recently given a minor setback by the BJP in the Union Cabinet expansion, decided to attend the Jind event to express his dissatisfaction. would have done.
