Senior Congress leader M Veerappa Moily on Sunday said that some leaders “misused” the G-23 and said it would be for “vested interest” if one persisted with its institutionalisation as the party under Sonia Gandhi Improvement was already underway. Moily said, “If they (some leaders) remain (with G-23), it means that some of them have a vested interest to work against the Congress party, which we do not subscribe to but its Resist,” Moily said. His remarks assume significance as many G-23 leaders have either distanced themselves from it or have gone silent after the letter he wrote last year. Asked about speculations that Kishor would join the Congress, Moily said it is advised that he join the Congress and implement the reforms from within.
