GUWAHATI: The Assam Police in Guwahati on Thursday night busted an inter-state drugs racket called World is Yours (WY) with banned narcotics worth over Rs 10 crore.
Police have arrested five people in the case. He has been identified as Dilwar Ali and Sakir Ahmed of Manipur, Masood Ahmed And Mohamed Shahido Mahmood Alam of Uttar Pradesh and Meghalaya. Police also recovered a consignment of narcotics along with Rs 1.22 lakh in cash from the possession of the five.
Guwahati Joint Commissioner of Police Partha Sarathi Mahanta said, “The consignment was smuggled from Moreh, a town on the Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur, to Kohima in Nagaland. From Kohima it was being smuggled to Bangalore and Delhi via Guwahati. Based on the inputs, the police in Guwahati intercepted a vehicle and confiscated the banned drugs.
