Anupama’s Vanraj aka Sudhanshu Pandey on moving from films to TV: ‘It’s not spectacular’

Sudhanshu Pandey is currently playing the role of Vanraj Shah in the popular show Anupama. Prior to this, the actor has worked in several films including Singh Is Kinng, Mardaani 2 and Singham. However, in a recent interview, Sudhanshu talked about Anupama being his first daily show till date and shared his experience.

“Anupama is my first daily show ever. I have never worked in any other daily show before. For guys, I’ve made a few appearances on a few shows, but haven’t worked full-time in any of them. I was not ready to be in daily soaps for a long time as I was doing films. Later, I did a few web shows after which I took this TV show Anupama,” Sudhanshu Pandey told ETimes.

He also revealed how he landed the role of Vanraj Shah and revealed that working for television is not as ‘fantastic’ as films. The actor further added that working long hours in television makes the job difficult. “I met producer Rajan Shahi at an award show. He is an old friend of mine. I told him that if the role was really good then I would be interested in working in a TV show. A few months later he called me for Anupama, but before that he prepared me about the workings of television for about a month. Long working hours… I realized it wouldn’t be as spectacular as the movies. It will be tough,” Sudhanshu said.
