3 students of class XI of Bokaro drowned in Damodar river. Ranchi News – Times of India

Bokaro: In Damodar, three students of class XI of a renowned school in the city drowned. River On Sunday, their bodies have not been found near Bhatua Basti under Harla police station till further news is written.
According to sources, the three boys – Shubham Kumar Mishra, Harsh Raj and Basant Kumar – all students of MGM Higher Secondary School and residents of Sector 3, Sector 9 and Sector 12 police station areas, along with six others had gone to the river. Take a bath after leaving home in the morning. The boys told their parents that they were going to tuition classes and play cricket matches. Presently, Damodar is in spate due to monsoon and Tenughat Dam has opened its sluice gates.
MGM school principal Father Rezi C Varghese termed the incident as “extremely unfortunate” and urged the district administration to trace the children.
Harla police station in-charge Jai Gobind Gupta said that they have started the rescue operation. Describing the incident, Gupta said that five students were standing on the bank, while four had taken a bath. “When Shubham Started” dying by drowning, Basant went to his help but he alone could not do it and Harsh also joined in helping both of them. However, they were all being swept away by the strong current and another of his friend Nitin also tried to help but could not and came out of the water,” said Gupta.
After the incident, other students fled the spot but Nitin immediately informed the locals, who in turn approached the police.
