Help comes not only from money, but also from willpower. Five years ago, Narayan Chandra Ojha, who worked as a painting worker in Odisha, thought of helping cancer patients. The financial condition of the exorcist himself was not very good, but the will was strong. Ojha donated his deposits, but took the help of charity to help further. He put a piggy bank (earthen hundi) in a public place on an experimental basis. Only 5700 rupees were deposited in it in three months, but this was just the beginning of the noble cause.

Now this work of Ojha is being praised all over the state, people have started calling him as ‘Bapu Ojha’. Ojha has been on the mission of charity for the last five years through a piggy bank in the state. Today fifty thousand rupees are collected in his piggy bank. It is boiled in front of the officials, public representatives and common people and then they hand over this amount to the needy cancer patients and their families.

‘Saw the victim woman weeping with the child’
Ojha says that in 2017 he saw a victim woman crying with a child outside a cancer hospital in Cuttack. The woman was suffering from illness and her two children aged 6-8 years were crying from hunger. The exorcist learned from them the plight and the financial condition of the family. He felt that there would be many needy cancer patients who do not have money for treatment, medicine and even food. Then he started the initiative to help such people.

Appeal for donations for the treatment of cancer patients
Find congested areas in Bhubaneswar, where maximum number of people can help. And then started keeping the piggy bank. In this, an appeal was made to the people to donate for the treatment of cancer patients. Ojha says that he does not feel any kind of shame or consideration in seeking help from people for a noble cause. Now, apart from public events, they have started going to private events like marriages, birthdays to ask for help. Some people themselves have started inviting him for charity in programs.

Initiatives started in 8 districts, up to 50 thousand rupees in a piggy bank
Narayan Ojha says that in Bhubaneswar itself only now 17 piggy banks have been filled with the help of people. This initiative has been named ‘Rajya Samaj Mangal Hundi Parivar’. Now this campaign has taken a state-wide form. Five in Cuttack, one in Angul district, one each in Jajpur, Khorda and Nayagarh districts have also started this with a piggy bank. Ojha told that he also finds out the financial condition of the person concerned before helping. Only then do they give money for treatment. Apart from this, complete transparency is also maintained in the matter of donation.
