Mumbai: 18th witness turned hostile in 2008 Malegaon Explosion case. Sakshi, owner of MP Hotel where the accused is Lt Col Prasad Purohit Had allegedly organized a “camp”, the court did not identify him. The witness supported the statements attributed to him charge sheet,
In the statement given to him in the NIA charge sheet, the witness had said that Purohit had met him in October 2008 to arrange camps for around 40-50 people.
The NIA statement said the event did not look like an Art of Living camp as claimed by Purohit at the time of booking. The statement said that Purohit had asked them to look at photographs of Bangladeshi infiltrators and the participants were trained to use sticks. The cost of the camp is around Rs 79,000, the statement said.
On 29 September 2008, a bomb exploded at Bhikku Chowk in Malegaon, killing six people and injuring over 100. So far 232 witnesses have testified in this case.
