Putin Ready to Halt In Ongoing Russia- Ukraine War, Reports

Moscow/London: The biggest news regarding the Russia-Ukraine conflict is emerging. Reuters, citing sources, has revealed that Putin is ready to halt the war with Ukraine. Reuters has made a sensational claim based on four Russian sources, stating that Russian President Vladimir Putin is prepared to stop the war in Ukraine through negotiations.

However, the condition is that if Ukraine and Western countries do not react after the ceasefire, it is possible.

Three close aides of Putin said that the experienced Russian leader expressed disappointment in front of a small group of advisers that the Western countries had hindered talks with Zelensky. Putin can wage this war as long as he wants, but now he does not want to prolong it.

Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in response to a request for comment that the Kremlin chief has repeatedly made it clear that Russia is ready for negotiations to achieve its goals and that the country does not want ‘endless war.’ Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Foreign and Defense Ministries did not respond to questions on the matter.

Just last week, the appointment of economist Andrei Belousov as Russia’s defense minister was seen by Western military and some political analysts as an effort to stabilize the Russian economy for a prolonged conflict.

Putin wants to accelerate Russia’s pace

It is said that in recent weeks, Russia has been strategically advancing on Ukrainian territories and has gained momentum. However, Russia does not want to prolong the war too much now.

Meanwhile, Putin, who was re-elected in March for a six-year term, will want to win the war to accelerate Russia’s pace.

For this, they will continue to advance in Ukraine. This is the largest land conflict in Europe since World War II. So far, thousands of people from both sides have been killed in this war.

During this time, Russia’s economy has been subjected to extensive sanctions from the West. Sources said that Putin believes that for any new progress, there will be a need for another nationwide restriction, which he does not want.

A source said that after the first restriction in September 2022, his popularity decreased. Therefore, he is also considering a ceasefire now. (Reuters)
