Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra on Thursday paid tributes to Captain Vikram Batra on his 47th birth anniversary, saying the Kargil war heroes will “always” be in people’s hearts.
Malhotra, who recently played Captain Batra in a biopic, penned an emotional note on the war hero’s birth anniversary.
“They say those who touch our lives are always in our hearts. And Captain Vikram Batra, you have influenced our lives immensely with your valor, wisdom, charm and patriotism. You are always in our hearts. Rahega… Aapka Pyaar Mein, Jai Hind,” he wrote along with a collage photo of Captain Batra.
Known for his bravery, Captain Batra was martyred at the age of 24 while fighting the Pakistani Army during the Kargil War in 1999.
He was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, the highest gallantry award.
‘Shershaah’, based on the life of Captain Batra with Malhotra, released on August 12 on Amazon Prime Video.
The film, which takes its title from the code name of the war hero, is directed by Vishnu Vardhan. In the film, actress Kiara Advani was seen in the role of Captain Batra’s fiancee Dimple Cheema. PTI
