On his 54th birthday on Thursday, Akshay Kumar posted a throwback picture with his late mother Aruna Bhatia on social media and along with it he made an emotional comment .The picture features Akshay and his mother who planting a kiss on her son’s cheek I see written.

Akshay Kumar’s mother, who was admitted to Hiranandani Hospital in Mumbai, where she was in the ICU, died on Wednesday morning. Akshay took to Twitter to express his grief. “She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the core of my existence,” he wrote, adding that his mother passed away peacefully.
He wrote, “My mother… Mrs. Aruna Bhatia passed away peacefully this morning and reunited with her father in another world. I respect your prayers as my family and I are going through this phase. .Om Shanti,” he wrote.
Akshay Kumar was in the UK and returned to Mumbai to be with his mother earlier this week when his health deteriorated.
On the work front, the actor was last seen in the spy thriller Bell Bottom alongside Lara Dutta, Huma Qureshi and Vaani Kapoor. He will soon star in Bachchan Pandey and will also be seen in Prithviraj, a biopic of Prithviraj Chauhan.
Akshay Kumar is awaiting the release of his multi-starrer Sooryavanshi, which is expected to hit the theaters this year.
