Women’s ODI World Cup: Deandra Dottin’s flight to send Lauren Winfield Hill back to the pavilion Watch

Deandra Dottin gave a shout out to Lauren Winfield Hill to be sent back to the pavilion during the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup match between England and West Indies on Wednesday. On the first ball of the ninth over, pacer Shamilia Connell pitches the ball at good length outside off-stump as Winfield Hill cuts it towards point to take advantage of the room provided. Dottin, who was fielding on point, flew to his left to catch the shouter with one hand. The English batsman was dismissed for just 12 as the Windies player celebrated the wicket around Dotin.

Earlier, wicketkeeper-batsman Shemaine Campbell’s half-century helped West Indies post a fighting total in a group stage clash in Dunedin on Wednesday. The wicket-keeper batsman scored 66 off 80 balls, while Chadian Nation (49*) and Hayley Matthews (45) also made valuable contributions, helping West Indies overcome mid-innings collapse after 225/6 in their 50 overs. Got it.

West Indies got off to a great start with the bat as openers Dottin and Mathews put on an 81-run partnership for the first wicket. However, Sophie Ecclestone started a mini-collapse as Windies lost three wickets in an over and were reduced to 81/3 from 81/0.

Matthews first dismissed Anya Shrubsole to Ecclestone and Dottin did some fine fielding after three balls courtesy of veteran Danny Wyatt.

West Indies lost captain Stephanie Taylor on the first ball as Ecclestone gave England the climb, only to put up an impressive 123-run partnership for the fifth wicket for Campbell and Nation.
