Gorakhpur: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday said that he will contest the upcoming assembly elections if his party decides. He is currently a member of the UP Legislative Council.
Speaking to reporters at an informal meeting in Gorakhpur, the CM said, “I have always contested elections and will fight from wherever the party tells me.”
“The party has a parliamentary board and it decides who will contest from where,” he said.
Referring to the positive changes in the state after 2017, he said: “During the 4.5 years of power in the state, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) did what it promised in the last assembly election. The party worked in all fields and showed it to the people.
On the law and order situation, the CM said that the state has set an example. “During the last 4.5 years, there have been no riots and all festivals including Diwali have been celebrated peacefully.”
“Diwali was celebrated earlier also and Kumbh Mela was not organized for the first time in the state. but Uttar Pradesh Before 2017, was battling with the image crisis, which is over now. The benefits of various schemes have reached the last man of the society,” Yogi said.
Deepotsav has been organized in Ayodhya and grand Kumbh in Prayagraj. Similarly, better law and order, ample opportunities for investment and employment have been ensured in the state. Now the people of UP will be seen with respect.
The Chief Minister said that the State has become the best destination in the country for investment from abroad due to the wonderful road connectivity and security guarantee. “Earlier investment used to go out of the country and now investment is coming into the country from outside. Earlier people used to say that UP begins with potholes and potholes, but now it is known for its network of expressways and four lane roads.
The CM said that Purvanchal Expressway will be inaugurated this month and Prime Minister Narendra Modi has seen its presentation. “Around 60 lakh jobs have been created along the expressway. During 4.5 years, 4.5 lakh people got jobs and no one could point out the issue of transparency.
Describing the first starvation deaths of the Musahar community in Kushinagar, the chief minister pointed to corruption in the distribution of food grains in the state before 2017. “UP is the only state where 97% people have expressed satisfaction over the distribution of food grains.” she added.
He also said that the state procured power at the rate of Rs 22 per unit for smooth power supply during the coal crisis.
