In a shocking turn of events, Jyoti Maurya, a provincial civil service officer in Bareilly, has found herself embroiled in corruption charges. Due to allegations and counter-allegations, this matter has become a topic of discussion at a wide level. To add fuel to the fire, a 100-page diary has come to the fore, which Jyoti’s husband has handed over to the media. The diary meticulously details the monthly collections allegedly made by Jyoti through informal means, amounting to a staggering Rs 600,000 per month. The truth of Jyoti’s claims will come out only after a thorough investigation. In response to the allegations, Jyoti’s husband Alok Maurya lodged a complaint with the Home Guard Headquarters. Following his complaint, Home Guard DIG VK Maurya has handed over the case to Deputy Commandant General Santosh Kumar for further investigation. Meanwhile, the involvement of women officers in the Bareilly Sugar Mill is also being probed.

Positive phrases are written alongside the symbols. In addition, each page highlights the amount of money received from various individuals. Alok claims that this handwriting is of Jyoti.

Jyoti Maurya served as a probationary officer in Kaushambi tea subdivision from 2019 to 2021. During this period, the diary records the accounts of the money received through corruption. In just one month, October 2021, Jyoti reportedly earned an informal income of Rs 604,000. The diary also mentions a monthly payment of Rs 15,000 to the supply inspector and Rs 16,000 to the marketing inspector. The amount received from corruption is mentioned in detail on every page of the diary.

Trouble will start after 2020

Alok reveals that he married Jyoti in 2010, after which he helped her pursue her education. Jyoti underwent training and eventually secured the 3rd rank among women and 16th overall in the Public Service Commission. His family was very happy. In 2015, they welcomed twin daughters. Till 2020 everything seemed fine.

Alok said that Jyoti befriended the District Commandant of the Home Guard in Ghaziabad in 2020. They started talking often and Alok didn’t see anything wrong considering their professional relationship. However, in 2022, Jyoti forgot to log out of her Facebook account on her mobile phone. Alok comes to know of their candid conversation, which makes him furious. When he protested, Jyoti resorted to physical assault and threatened to send him to jail. On 22 December 2022, Alok was caught from a hotel in Lucknow. He claims that he ran away after saving his life.

Alok accused Jyoti, saying, “A week ago I received a call threatening to voluntarily divorce, otherwise I would be killed. He also threatened to implicate me in a false dowry case under section 376.
