WhatsApp once again starts testing edit message feature: Here’s how it works

Well, it’s not just Twitter, even WhatsApp is testing its edit message feature which may be rolled out to beta users in the coming months. The option was first spotted about 5 years ago, and while it’s possible that Twitter may soon confirm to roll out its edit button, the meta-owned messaging app is eager to resume its journey with the feature. .

As you can see in the screenshot below, the Edit Messaging option will be available in the three-dot menu at the top-right of the chat. All you have to do is select the blurb to change, click the edit button, and make changes. The report did not clarify whether WhatsApp will have a limited window to make changes to the message, and whether such changes will be allowed with text you send along with an image.

WhatsApp is building out the Edit Message feature so that you can correct any typos after sending the message. Truth be told, many people make such mistakes, and small typos cause the user to send another message but with a * sign above it to add it to the previous chat or mark it as an error.
