WhatsApp may soon allow users to share high quality videos: Here’s how it works

New Delhi: You all must be using WhatsApp, and it is likely that you have shared a video with someone on the app at some point or the other. However, you must have noticed that while sending a 20MB video, WhatsApp compresses it to 7 or 8MB, resulting in a loss of video quality. This often leads to the recipient perceiving that the video quality is low, which can be frustrating.

To address this issue, WhatsApp is currently working on enhancing the video quality in its upcoming updates. Soon, you’ll have the ability to send video in high-definition (HD) quality, providing a better viewing experience for both you and the recipient.

In terms of sharing videos, WhatsApp will give two options to the users. According to Wabetainfo, a website that closely monitors WhatsApp’s development, the company will introduce an option for users to select the desired quality before sharing videos. You will have the choice between standard quality and HD quality options. You can choose any of these options depending on your preference. If you choose HD video quality, the recipient will receive the video in the same high-quality format, and the video message will indicate that it was shared in HD quality.

It is important to note that the update is currently available for beta testers, and the company is expected to roll it out to all users in the near future.

Apart from video enhancements, WhatsApp has also made significant improvements to the process of transferring chats between devices. Now, it is very easy to transfer your chats from your old phone to the new one. You can easily transfer your chats by scanning the provided QR code. This method provides faster chat transfer than using Google Drive, saving you valuable time and ensuring a seamless transition to your new device.
