WhatsApp may reportedly log you out of linked devices – Times of India

recently, WhatsApp The multi-device feature has been rolled out for all beta users. This feature allows users to use the platform on multiple devices even when there is no connectivity on the main smartphone. Users can link one WhatsApp account to up to four more devices. The platform is now reportedly implementing a security fix that could hinder the multi-device feature. According to a report by WABetaInfo, several users complained about problems syncing data between linked devices and to address this, the Facebook-owned platform is offering a fix.
As per reports, WhatsApp can automatically log out your linked devices to fix the syncing issue. The report further mentions that the fix has been implemented for beta users on Android and iOS devices. With the fix, if your device experiences problems syncing data, the platform will automatically log your device as a security precaution.
Users who have reportedly received the fix see a message when they open WhatsApp Settings > Linked Devices. “Your devices were logged out due to an unexpected problem. Please relink your devices.” reads the message.
This week, WhatsApp also announced more controls for its disappearing messages feature. Users now have the option to turn on disappearing messages automatically for all of their new face-to-face chats. Once set up, all future messages in these WhatsApp chats will be automatically deleted. In addition, the company has also added two new periods for disappearing messages: 24 hours and 90 days. The company has clarified that this feature is optional and does not change or delete any of your existing chats. The disappearing of messages setting will also not affect messages that users have previously sent or received in chat.
