Seema Singh is one of the most prominent faces of the Bhojpuri industry. After his appearances in several films like Nahle Pe Dehla, Ram Lakhan, Swarg and Loha Pehlwaan, the 32-year-old made his mark in politics by joining the Lok Janshakti Party. Recently, in an interview with News18 Hindi, Seema revealed how she shifted gears from her illustrious film career and entered the political arena after her marriage to Saurav Kumar in 2018. He gave his opinion on many topics including increasing obscenity in Bhojpuri. Movies and his thoughts on actress Akanksha Dubey’s suicide that shook the nation.
When the host asked Seema Singh to express her perspective on the increasing number of obscene and pornographic films being screened in Bhojpuri cinema, she replied that the scenario was quite different when she was an actress. She revealed that her time in the film industry was quite enjoyable.
Emphasizing on the strong unity in the cast and crew members to put each other first, Seema said that everyone worked together as a team, which resulted in making good films. But, standing up today, he acknowledged that there has been a lot of decline in unity in the film industry. “I also think this aspect needs improvement,” she said.
In this conversation, Seema was asked a question regarding the suicide of late actress Akanksha Dubey. The 25-year-old allegedly committed suicide on March 26. She was found hanging from the ceiling in her hotel room. At present, Akanksha’s mother is pleading for justice for her daughter. In this context, Seema Singh was asked to share her views on why no one from the Bhojpuri film industry helped her.
In response, Seema rejected the rumor of Bhojpuri celebrities not coming forward to help Akanksha’s mother. He said, ‘Many actors and actresses of Bhojpuri film world are coming to meet her (Akanksha’s) mother. They are also urging the administration to get the matter properly investigated. He expressed confidence that the authorities will definitely investigate the matter and Akanksha Dubey will get justice.
On a closing note, Seema Singh revealed that she joined the Lok Janshakti Party along with party president Chirag Paswan as she was interested in becoming an active participant in the development work in Bihar.
