What did Elon Musk say about Indian talent after Parag Agarwal took over as Twitter CEO?

Parag Agarwal is the latest to join the list of CEOs of India’s big tech companies. After Jack Dorsey resigned from Twitter, Agarwal was announced as the new CEO of the social media company. Parag, 37, is the youngest major tech CEO and the same age as Mark Zuckerberg.

Agarwal holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Across IITs India Sundar Pichai, who is the CEO of Alphabet and Google from IIT Kharagpur, has provided a lot of technical talent globally.

CEOs of big tech firms like Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks, IBM and Adobe are also from India. Acknowledging the contribution of the Indian diaspora to the world of technology, Elon Musk said, “USA benefits greatly from Indian talent!” Responding to a tweet from Stripe CEO Patrick Collison.

Collison said, “Google, Microsoft, Adobe, IBM, Palo Alto Networks, and now Twitter are all run by CEOs who grew up in India. Thank you for the amazing success of Indians in the world of technology and the opportunities America offers to immigrants. It’s wonderful to see a good reminder.”

Musk reacted quickly to this and said, “USA benefits greatly from Indian talent!”

After graduating from IIT Bombay, Agarwal did his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University. After completing his education, Parag held leadership positions at Microsoft Research and Yahoo Research. In October 2011, he joined Twitter and in October 2018, Twitter appointed Parag as the company’s CTO.
