It was a crucial wicket for both LSG and Yash Thakur at the big stage. Meanwhile, Marcus Stoinis’ unbeaten 89 off 47 balls and Mohsin Khan’s brilliant bowling performance in the final over helped Lucknow Super Giants register a thrilling 5-run win over Mumbai Indians.

With the win, Lucknow moved to the third spot in the points table with 15 points and came close to sealing their plate-off berth with a league match to spare.

Marcus Stoinis’ unbeaten 89 off 47 balls and skipper Krunal Pandya’s 49 off 42 balls helped LSG post a decent total of 177 runs on the board.

In reply, Mumbai Indians also began their chase with a crucial 90-run partnership for the first wicket as Ishan Kishan set the stage with a 39-ball 59. At the same time, captain Rohit Sharma also looked good during his innings of 37 runs but in the end David and Green failed to chase the target.

After the win, Krunal Pandya praised Mohsin Khan for his brilliant final over as he defended 11 runs.

“Mohsin has a big heart. He underwent surgery and after such a thing he is playing IPL, so the sky’s the limit. It hasn’t been easy for us, really happy to end it on a good note here. Nice to get them a win in this last game at this venue,” Kunal said at the post-match presentation.
