The 76th Cannes Film Festival opened with the premiere of period drama Jean du Barry starring Johnny Depp. Aishwarya Rai BachchanThe Queen of Cannes is all set to make an appearance on the very coveted red carpet soon. And like always, her fans across the globe are eagerly waiting for the Bollywood diva’s stunning red-carpet look. Now, Aishwarya Rai was spotted with her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan at the Mumbai airport in the early hours of Wednesday as they left for Cannes.
The mother-daughter duo were all smiles for the cameras before heading to the film festival. The Ponniyin Selvan actress kept it casual yet classy in a black oversized long coat with silver floral print. She paired her look with a matching black top and trousers. A red-lips makeup look rounded off her look, which she accessorised with an oversize black handbag and a pair of printed sneakers. On her arrival at the airport, Aishwarya was seen interacting with her fans and clicking pictures.
Aaradhya Bachchan, on the other hand, looked lovely in a button-down denim jacket and a pair of matching trousers, which she paired with a baby pink T-shirt.
Aishwarya has been attending the Cannes Film Festival for a long time. This year too she will return to the Festival de Cannes as the spokesperson for beauty giant L’Oréal Paris.
Aishwarya Rai’s work front
On the professional front, Aishwarya was last seen in Ponniyin Selvan 2. Mani Ratnam’s film is an epic two-part historical saga that also stars Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj and Vikram. Lord, among others. The film is based on the title work of author Kalki. The film’s first act depicts the early years of the Chola prince Arunmozhi Varman, who later became the legendary emperor Rajaraja I.
The second installment, which premiered in theaters on April 28, follows the first installment, which was slated for a September 2022 release. The soundtrack for PS-2 was composed by Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman.
