Sharks are considered one of the most dangerous marine predators. And, movies like Deep Blue Sea, Jaws and The Shallows, to name a few, have repeatedly struck fear into the hearts of many with their depictions of horrific shark attacks. Many skilled scuba divers and marine experts, when they venture under the sea, also feel panic when they are alerted about sharks nearby.
Speaking of sharks, an old video by Swiss-based cinematographer, Jimmy da Kid has resurfaced on the internet. It shows the cinematographer having a near-death experience with a tiger shark. However, instead of attacking Zimmy, the predatory fish charges at his camera, trying to swallow the device but eventually spitting it out.
The viral video was originally posted on Instagram on April 21. At that moment this curious Tiger Shark decided to taste my Insta360 camera during our last Deep Sea Guardians expedition,” read the caption of Zimmy’s post.
The alarming video shows a massive tiger shark slithering under water. Moving swiftly towards the man, the shark startled him by trying to swallow his Insta360 camera. Although the shark manages to fit the device in its huge mouth, it soon realizes that the camera is not edible and drops it on the seabed, swimming away from the spot.
For as long as the camera was inside the shark’s mouth, viewers got a glimpse of the predatory fish’s internal organs. The footage captured the tiger shark’s fangs, massive throat and parts of the inner walls of its gills.
Social media users were stunned after seeing the amazing footage captured inside the shark’s mouth. They were quick to share their feedback in the comments. “This is crazy,” said one user. “It was like a whole different dimension inside that shark. Never seen one before,” said another. A third user wrote, “Amazing amount of art that exists inside this creator.”
Till date, the video has garnered over 440k views and over 17.2k likes on Instagram.
