The total box office collection of Warisu increased by Rs 3.25 crore during the weekend, taking its total domestic earnings to around Rs 214 crore. It surpassed Vijay’s previous record of Rs 210 crore from Master, making it the highest-grossing film for him in India. The film earned an additional $10.80 million (Rs 88 crore) overseas, taking its worldwide total to Rs 302 crore. Bigil, which collected a gross of over Rs 300 crore, was the first Vijay starrer to cross the triple century mark.

Amid this triumph, Team Varisu has released another track from the family entertainer titled Va Thalaivaa. The track is sung by Shankar Mahadevan, Karthik, Thaman S, Deepak Blue and Arvind Srinivasan. The song is composed by Thaman S and lyrics are penned by Vivek. The 5-minute-long track enthralls the audience with the scenic beauty and biking experience of Thalapathy Vijay. The shooting of the track was completed in the serene environment of Kerala. The track not only captures the beauty of Kerala but also the beauty of Rajasthani folk dance. In a single day, the Va Thalaivaa track garnered 1.4 million views on YouTube and hence has become one of the trending songs on YouTube.

Talking about the collections, Varisu has collected around Rs. 143.75 crores in Tamil Nadu alone, which is again Vijay’s career high. This puts him ahead of both the Master and Bigil. With perhaps another Rs 3-4 crore, the film will surpass Baahubali 2 and Ponniyin Selvan: 1 collections in Tamil Nadu and make Vikram’s film the third highest grosser of all time in the state.
