Uttar Pradesh: Varanasi set to host 3-day G20 Summit from April 17; ‘Kashi tour’ for guests on itinerary

G20 Summit: Varanasi is all set to host the G20 event for three days from Monday (April 17) as the authorities have made all preparations for the mega event. According to an official statement, the Agriculture Working Group meeting to be held from April 17 to 19 will be attended by representatives of 20 major countries of the world and representatives of other partner countries. The main meeting will be held at Hotel Taj. After this, there will also be a ‘Kashi tour’ of the guests.

Around 80 foreign delegates from G20 countries including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom and European Union will participate in the events in Varanasi. ,

first day of summit

On the first day of the summit, the meeting of Agriculture Leading Scientists (MACS) 2023, Sustainable Agricultural Food Systems for Healthy People and the Planet will be inaugurated.

The first session of the meeting will be on Food Security and Nutrition: The Role of Science, Technology and Innovation and the second session will be on ‘Resilient Agri-Food Systems’. In the evening, the G20 delegates will participate in the world famous Ganga Aarti at Kashi.

Program for the second day of the summit

On the second day, there will be sessions on ‘Digital Agriculture and Sustainable Agricultural Value Chain’ and ‘Public Private Partnership in Agricultural R&D: Perspectives from Developed and Developing Countries’.

The guests will leave for Sarnath in the evening on 18th April and visit the museum and light and sound show and later dinner with cultural program will be organized at Buddha Theme Park.

Program for the third day of the summit

The MACS-2023 release will be discussed and finalized on 19th April and the guest will visit the Trade Facilitation Center (TFC) at Bada Lalpur in the afternoon.

The theme of the G20 Indian Presidency is ‘One Earth, One Family and One Future’, celebrating the spirit of togetherness and harmony among us to ensure a brighter future for the world.

It is worth mentioning that in the three-day event, the message of promoting nutritious diet, food security and eco-friendly farming will also be given to keep the whole world healthy. With the motto of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, India is hosting the G20 this year. A total of 6 G20 meetings will be held in Varanasi.
