Agra: Two minors Dalit sisters He was allegedly raped by two men from his neighboring villages in UP Mainpuri Friday evening district. The police have arrested one of the accused by registering an FIR.
Police said the rape victims – a 17-year-old student of Class IX – and her 16-year-old cousin, who is studying in Class VIII, had gone to defecate in a field around 5 pm on Friday, when both the men – Guarav Shakya, 21, and Saurabh ShakyaThe 20-year-old allegedly grabbed them and dragged them inside the farm.
According to the victims’ disclosures to the police, Bade was allegedly raped by Saurabh, and Gaurav allegedly attempted to rape another.
One of the accused managed to escape from the spot, while the victims shouted for help, the other was caught by the local residents and later handed over to the police.
Police said that the village of Gurav was just 100 meters away from the village of the victims. An FIR was registered against the duo at Dahan police station under IPC section 376 (rape) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act along with SC/ST Act.
The police arrested Saurabh, while the search for the other accused has been started.
Danhar police station in-charge Vinod Kumar told that Saurabh has been produced in the court on Saturday and sent to judicial custody. He said the other accused would be arrested soon. The medical of both the girls has been done and the report is awaited. Further investigation is on in the matter.
In July this year, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by three youths in Mainpuri’s Bichhwa area for three days and left her unconscious.
