News of Poisonous Liquor Case in Bihar: After 32 people died due to consumption of spurious liquor in Bihar, state BJP president Sanjay Jaiswal on Saturday said the sale of illicit liquor in the state was taking place in connivance with the police and stressed on the need to review prohibition.

Addressing the media, Sanjay Jaiswal said, “Wherever the police is active, illegal liquor is being sold there. Especially in East Champaran, illegal liquor cannot be sold without the connivance of the police.

The Bihar BJP president said, “We need to review the entire prohibition policy. We cannot link this incident with the prohibition policy. But the Bihar government should look into the suspicious role of the administration.”

Earlier today he said that the law is strict but the situation shows that people are not that aware.

Jaiswal said, “The law is strict and made with strict rules, but the circumstances suggest that people are not that aware. The primary task of the government will be to stop the mafia gangs in the villages as the police control is less.”

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday ordered comprehensive action against those trying to derail his government’s prohibition law.
